MEET THE DESIGNER
Diego Moncada is the creative head behind DM Studio. After having worked in key design roles with small and large scale brands both in fashion and fine jewelry, Diego's true passion lives within custom projects. His focus and mission is to bring a transparent custom design service to his consumers.
Much of Diego's impetus to follow a design career was due to his father and mother's upbringing. Growing up, both parents were makers and gumptious entrepreneurs from very early ages. Despite growing up in a family actively involved at the gem industry in his hometown Bogota, Colombia, Diego's flirtation with jewelry didn't start until he joined an arts program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. After having enrolled in a few introductory courses on jewelry fabrication and 3D technology, he found his métier and became fascinated by the design, craft and manufacturing process of jewelry.

Through the course of his work experience, Diego's design aesthetic has imbued him with the ability to deliver fresh ideas and a unique design service offering one-of-a-kind commissions Ad Personam.

"Jewelry is a wearable art form that has the potential to connect and speak to its wearer in emotional and intimate ways. I believe in delivering a bespoke service with a great level of detail and thoughtfulness. Creating a bespoke piece of jewelry has as much to do with how you remember the experience as it has to do with the final piece itself. The final result becomes your own story and provides the unique experience of admiring your piece of jewelry more than just an accessory. Your story comes first, design is secondary."
